In a country that is constantly keeping up with the demands and overstimulation of globalisation and over tourism, To and From centers around capturing the โ€˜in betweenโ€™, the quiet pockets of stillness, tenderness, and character within both the landscapes and the people who inhabit them, away from the noise. Through these photographs, I reflect on my emotional ties to the environments that shape me, the city and the ocean, as well as to my mother tongue and Thai identity, which feel as though they are slowly slipping away the longer I remain abroad. The tension between active and passive observation within my own culture and home becomes the driving force behind this project. The desire to preserve, document, and return to these moments through photography is how I remain grounded, and how I keep myself deeply rooted in the Thai sensibilities and memories I hold dear
